F-Gas standards deadline is ‘impossible to meet’

As the deadline approaches, Develop Training has expressed concerns that the F-Gas standards required by June 2001 will not be met.

With over 35,000 refrigerant gas engineers still not trained, they state there are fears that a last minute rush to gain qualifications may mean demand may outstrip supply.

R422D VRV system still Going Strong After 18 Months

Approaching the 18 Month mark, we revisited the first VRV system that we converted to R422D as a direct replacement for R22 refrigerant.

This was not only the first trial for us on VRV, it was also the first trial of R422D or ISCEON 29 on any VRV system in the UK.

The trial was a joint venture by Temperature Control, DuPont and IDS Refrigeration on behalf of Jurys Doyle Hotel group now changed to the Doyle Collection. Continue reading

Are You Using Illegal Air Conditioning Contractors

SOME 50% of companies in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry are now trading illegally after failing to register for an F-Gas certificate before the deadline of July 4.

The government-approved F-Gas registration body REFCOM has reported 2,500 registrations to date, leaving an estimated further 2,500 unregistered and trading illegally. Continue reading

Delays in 4th July F Gas Registration Scheme May cause problems for all

It may be a date for celebrations in the USA but the 4th July may not be celebrated in the UK and European refrigeration and air conditioning industries. To comply with the latest requirements for the F Gas Regulations all companies handling and buying refrigerants have to be registered by this date.

The UK Government announced in February that REFCOM would be the body responsible for administrating this registration scheme /blog/refcom-to-run-registration-scheme.html, however this has not yet been finalised. Continue reading
