Why we stand out from the crowd

Quality…….Who is responsible for it? We influence other people every day of our lives, intentionally or not. Every conversation we have and every interaction we have with another person is an influencing opportunity.

This might be as simple as asking a question from a stranger, or introducing yourself to the client when you arrive on site. Sometimes, influence is exerted in a matter of seconds and in other situations it is exerted over many hours, so what can we do to tip the balance in our favour? We should always work to the philosophy that “Near enough” is not “Good enough”. So why do we need quality?

  • In order to get it right first time;
  • To subsequently reduce the impact that we have on the environment;
  • To reduce costs;
  • Increase our client reputation;
  • Increase the gap that we have developed between us and our competitors;
  • Enables us to win more business; and
  • Secures our long term future.

But “Quality” involves what?

  • Everything that we do;
  • How we present ourselves;
  • The documents that we raise;
  • The materials that we use;
  • The equipment that we install; and
  • Checking our work and being able to prove to our clients that we deliver our promised standards ‘first time’, ‘every time’.

So, ask yourself the question again ……. “who is responsible for Quality?” If you have any ideas or suggestions that you would like to share with us all please use the ‘post a comment’ button below.
