BREEAM ‘Excellent’ Grade A Office – 12,869sq ft

Project Overview

The client wanted a VRF Comfort Cooling & Heating System designed to an occupational density of 1:10sq m on each floor and to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’ integrating the system with a Building Energy Management System.

The key drivers in achieving this was not only a competitive price but the contractor would also have to be a Mitsubishi BSP in order to benefit from the extended 7yr warranty.

Temperature Control worked with the builder and air conditioning manufacturer to ensure that the consultants recommendation regarding the acoustic lining of the BC boxes was done to their satisfaction.

Project Details

Cat 1 Fit Out to offices with the supply and installation of 22 Mitsubishi VRF systems connected to 182 indoor ducted fan coils across all six floors.

The project also included an Ecodan Heat Pump which served the under floor heating in the Ground Floor Lobby as well as Heat Recovery Ventilation

The design was compliant to the British Council of Offices which works well in large open plan offices as the scope for change in the event of a Cat B fit out allows the option to change the layout of the floors with minimal cost and disruption

Project Budget

Project Description

Temperature Control used Mitsubishi Electric High COP VRF and Power Inverter Split Systems in order for the client to be eligible for the ECA (Enhanced Capital Allowance)

ECA is a straightforward way for businesses to improve cash flow through accelerated tax relief. The scheme encourages businesses to invest in energy saving plant which meets published energy saving criteria  managed by the Carbon Trust on behalf of the government.

Companies can write off 100% of the capital cost of qualifying equipment against taxable profits in the first year of purchase. This provides a welcomed cash flow boost and a tax incentive to encourage investment in energy saving technology.
