Court Street Medical Centre, Madeley, Telford

“Temperature Control have provided the thermal modelling, design and build of the new medical practice and have worked closely with the design team in order to meet the BREEAM conditions of this site while being able to deliver the end user a system that works best for them. The project is currently on site and is due to be completed at the end of Sept 2015. Temperature Control carried out the first fix to a very high standard, safely and exceeded the very restricted programme time scales we have for this project.”

Project Overview

Carried out to a very high specification, ASHP was selected using Mitsubishi Electric VRF heat recovery systems to accommodate the new 2 storey medical practice, comprising of consulting rooms, treatment rooms, admin office areas and waiting areas offering high levels of energy efficiency throughout.

Mitsubishi heat recovery ventilation systems have been combined and linked to the VRF system to heat and cool recovery along with good quality fresh air for patients and staff comfort. Sick building syndrome is so common in a large number of buildings and offices making this an excellent clean, healthy environment for patients to visit and staff to work.

Controllers to each room are fitted with the latest new presence detectors so systems are not left on running when rooms are not in use. These are all further linked back to a centralised control manager that will optimise the operation of the system, making it further efficient.

We will be further engaged as we are with the majority of installation post completion in carrying out essential preventative maintenance. This will not only maintain the end user’s warranty for 7 years but will ensure the systems are running correctly and most importantly, efficiently. Non-maintained systems have been proven to have a shorter life expectancy and higher running costs.

Project Details

Temperature Control Limited provided the thermal modelling, heat loss and gain calculations in order to design and build heating, cooling and heat recovery ventilation systems to the new medical practice. The key challenges were to meet the BREEAM requirements by providing energy efficient operation and a high level of comfort conditions in the practice and to fit the very restricted budget.

For the new Medical Practice, Temperature Control have supported the design team from the initial concept through the design stage to installation on site. The build has been granted on the provision that it will have a BREEAM rating of Very Good.

Project Description

A single Mitsubishi Electric Air Source Heat Recovery system was used to the provide simultaneous heating and cooling throughout the practice along with good quality and efficient heat recovery fresh air systems.
