Providing energy-efficient Mitsubishi Electric VRF systems to a BREEAM Excellent, high-end office development

Project Overview

2 Stockport Exchange, a five story, grade A office building within close proximity to Stockport train station, installed with Mitsubishi heat recovery air conditioning systems throughout, the building includes a large external terrace at fifth-floor level, each floor plate can be subdivided, has an energy efficiency rating of ‘A’ and is rated BREEAM excellent.

Project Description

Temperature Control Ltd carried out the installation of 16 No Mitsubishi R2 Series, heat recovery VRF condensing units, located within the roof level plant deck, the VRF outdoors are connected to 144 No ducted type indoor fan coil units across the five floors, we also supplied and installed a Mitsubishi split system to serve the ground floor comms room, all systems are operated by touch screen centralised controllers complete with localised hard wired remote controllers for each floor, complete with BACnet BMS interface.

Project Outcome

The client benefited from an energy-efficient application that can simultaneously heat and cool at the same time, suitable for a cellular arrangement should this be amended to a Cat B design at a later date.
